My opinion of this week(322):
Lasting charm of Mailing List
I have found about 32 mails when I checked my mail box this morning.
Most of them were from members of tadML and MPC (Murayama PC Club).
They were mainly on the recent PC working session at RANZAN but
topics were wide variety of politics, economy, hobbies and so forth.
What's more, each of their messages are kind of long.
There was a message on Japanese politics from a woman member which
is rather rather rare in the past. Although there were many messages
from women, they don't usually talk much about politics and economy.
I found it very fresh.
Most of the writers wrote their opinion in very positive and specific
manner. They exchanged opinions on each subjects in very fair but
specific way expressing for and against to opinions of other people.
There are no dirty-mouth or name-calling abuse each other in any
case as I often experienced in BBS and forums in the past.
In addition to debate, there are many ordinal exchange of communication
about our daily life as well. A woman member who lives in Nara wrote
to a member who works in a wine cellar in Kofu asked if she could visit
there when she trips to Kofu area quite soon. The man welcomed it and
advised how she could visit there. They never met each other before .
They just know each other through ML. The net work of this kind is
getting larger day by day in this way.
I have been convinced myself that I was quite right and lucky in
doing this kind of mailing list activity for many years. After
I make a routine work of home page revision once a week, I will
also begin writing my comments and opinions on each messages in this
morning.
It is now the most enjoyable and exciting part of my life at present.

My opinion of this week(323):
Rakuten second house
At PC working session at Ranzan, we learned how to make a home page
by using HTML language, although it is only very elementary. Some members
of MPC(Murayama PC Club) started challenging to make home pages after
Ranzan session. At various occasions, I have recommended to members of
ML to have their own home pages for various purpose. I was glad to see
that three members of ML, Kotani san, Mike san and Abe san had just
completed their own pages and introduced each URLs at Ranzan meeting
thanks to a good guidance by Seki san.
I personally believe that the best way to make a home page is to learn
to use HTML rather than using a certain page making soft ware such as
IBM Home Page Builder. Writing HTML is a kind of difficult process for
a beginner at any rate.
Then, just after Ranzan session, Watanabe san kindly introduced Rakuten
home page making service. He explained how easy it was to make a page.
A page can be made just by 20 minutes or so just by registering ones
own name, selecting a title logos from several samples and so forth.
I knew such services and was using one before. But this Rakuten home
page making service contains several new features such as writing diary
from daily mails, random exchange of visit between Rakuten home page
members and so on.
I have made one at once for I like any thing like this of new net service.
As far as my page is concerned , I don't need to put anything new. I
just place several links to my main pages, the diary page and AV BBS
that already exist at other sites. This is a sort of my second house
to enjoy life in along with my main house. The purpose of having
such second home page is to increase interfaces of many other mailing
friends.
For those people who have no home pages yet, this service is worthwhile
using to have their own pages very easily without any cost. After building
a page at a site, any customization is possible by using original pictures,
original logos and icons. What's more, any reforming of the page is
possible by writing original HTML. It will be a good method to learn HTML
by itself.
Some people may not like commercials in the page provided by sponsors. But
this could be tolerated. How can we live in such excellent condominiums
without paying any rental fees?

My opinion of this week(324)F
Treasure every encounter, for it will never recur
I like the word "Ichigou Ichie" (meeting only once in a lifetime) which
was mentioned by Senrkyu , a master of tea ceremony in 16 th century.
The word means the treasure every encounter for it will never recur.
We meet only very limited number of people including families, friends
and so on in our life time, and we must value relationship with those
people because of coincidence of such encounter during our life.
It is only a very common sense in a way to become a good friend each
other with people whom we met in our lifetime. Let's talk, laugh, play,
teach each other, keeping a good network of community.
One year has passed since MPC (Murayama PC Club) was organized since last
June. It is our pleasure to see members of club have increased and
various interaction between members are developing in many ways. According
to my view, the common purpose of the club is to learn about PC, but one
other important objective is to develop friendship between members of the
club. Many other members think the same way as I believe it.
There are two regular meeting in a month. Hirai san takes care of all
sort of administrative works of club including conveyance of schedules
and events to members. Such administrative works are very troublesome
in any club activities. One of the biggest troublesome work for Hirai
san was to inform schedules of regular meeting to members. As a matter
of fact, this work has been improved greatly since club started using
e-mail as a communication method in early this year.
It just happened yesterday. Hirai san got an e-mail from a member of
the club asking the necessity of answering to the notice of schedule
from Hirai san as to whether or not a member will attend the club next
time. A member questioned whether or not it was quite necessary.
Considering convenience of all members, Hirai san agreed with the opinion
and announced that any confirmation of attendance would not be necessary
anymore. I personally did not have any doubt about his own judgment
as well.
But soon after this, one member of the club sent an e-mail to Hirai san
expressing his disagreement with the decision. He said all members are
requested to answer whether he or she will attend the club meeting at
any time for he believe it is a kind of basic manner in any communities.
Hirai san sent me an e-mail asking my advice how he should encounter
the case. I have no hesitation to advice him to change what he has
announced before. Because I believed personally the opinion was quite
right. Answering to such notices of clubs of any sorts is a basic manner
in communities rather than rules or anything. To develop mutual trust
of relationship between members is the most important thing to keep good
management of club, and I reconsidered the importance of such
communication manner in many respects.
I wish I could be a good citizens and a good community member in
any occasions who say a hello and try to add some words of kindness
or friendship whenever they meet others in a road.

My opinion of this week(325):
Process of Decision
I was quite surprised to read the head line news of evening edition of
Asahi News Paper on June 24. Lawmaker Fudesaka resigned from membership
of House of Representative due to a sexual harassment scandal he caused
sometime ago at a party. I read Fudesaka's excuse and comment by the
Communist Party with a kind of good impression for its speed and
cleanness.
There are so many scandals caused by diet members these@days and many of
them refused to resign from membership for making unreasonable excuse.
I felt Fudesaka's resignation at this time is quite reasonable in this
respect.
Then, I tried to find some more facts about the sexual harassment and
the process of decision by the party in the news paper. But no further
details were not found.
I checked Asahi News Paper next morning but could not find many more
details about the case. There was an editorial on the issue. That said
Communist Party should clarify some more details about facts and process
of decision making at this time, although they evaluate the decision
itself. I agree with it.
The party is declining at the moment and they are trying to change party's
image by introducing several new policies such as accepting Emperor's
system. The scandal was a big blow to the party for sure. They must be
quick enough to make that decision. That is fine, indeed.
But as a public party under democratic political system in this country,
any of their decision process should be more open in any respect.
